What kinds of services do you provide?

We can help with many tasks and we can help with one or all of them. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Paying bills
  • Balancing the checkbook
  • Monitoring investments
  • Maintaining home and property
  • Selling property
  • Arranging reverse mortgages, refinancing, etc.
  • Deciphering medical bills and insurance statements
  • Counseling about charitable contributions/mass marketing letters
  • Acting as trustee
  • Mediating financial matters among family members

Can you choose just some of the services?

Absolutely. We tailor our services to the needs of each individual client.

How much do ElderCare services cost?

Services are billed on an hourly basis. Fees vary depending on the personnel used and the service provided. Generally, the fees average $75.00-$90.00 an hour.

Who are your clients?

We are contacted and retained by both families and professionals. Concerned adult children of an aged parent will often contact us. We can help as much as the senior will allow. Often, we are asked to be involved by attorneys, the court, or even government agencies.

As our population ages, there are more and more cases where seniors are at risk for or suffer from dementia or a related illness. Traditionally, when someone truly is incapable of handling their own affairs, a trusted family member will step in to act on their behalf. If there is some dissention in the family, or if there is no family to assist, we can be appointed by the court to become "Conservator" and/or "Trustee."

We have also been asked to act as "Successor Trustee" and as "Personal Representative" in settling estates after the death of a loved one.

Do we need a Court appointment to use your services?

No, our services do not require a court appointment. However, to act as Conservator or Trustee there are legal steps that need to be followed. We work with many ElderLaw attorneys, medical professionals, and other specialists to complete those legal steps. We can refer you to the correct services, if necessary.

Can we schedule a free consultation to see if you can help us?

There is no charge for the initial consultation to discuss options and services. We would love to meet with you and your family. Appointments should be scheduled in advance with Becky Allred in our ElderCare Department.

How often do you meet with each client?

Depending upon the client's needs, we will meet with them monthly, weekly, or even more frequently if needed. We will then report to the responsible caregiver. We will also make regular telephone calls to the client, and we are willing to receive telephone calls from the client as often as is reasonably needed.

Do you give investment advice to seniors?

We do not make specific investment recommendations, practice law, sell insurance, or provide direct services or products. However, as a key member of a "multi-disciplinary team" to help seniors, we can refer you to legal, financial, and health care professionals who can best help you.

Will the primary caregiver be informed of the financial decisions?

We will inform the caregiver of the financial situation at any time, as agreed upon.
