Often, as Mom and Dad age, the daily, weekly, and monthly financial tasks become more burdensome, and issues are difficult to resolve. Adult children are generally called upon to help but may not live in the area or may not have the time to spend on their parents' finances. In addition, families often prefer to spend their time together dealing with more pleasant issues, leaving the budget/money discussions to a professional. Using an independent professional also eliminates the possibility of financial exploitation by a caregiver or family member.

Custodianship and Payee ServicesA Federal Government appoints us to receive and manage funds that individuals may receive through a government benefit. If the recipient of those benefits has been determined to be at risk in the community, vulnerable to exploitation, or incapable of managing their own funds, we may be asked to step in.

Trustee ServicesTrust services vary by need. We serve as trustee on numerous Underage 65 Disability Trusts, private trusts, and as successor trustee when the existing trustee has become unable to serve, sometimes in conjunction with a conservator appointment. Often we have been asked to mediate and settle trust disputes as an impartial, experienced third party.

ConservatorshipThrough a legal process, we are appointed by the local judicial authorities to manage the estate of an incapacitated person. While immediate family members can be appointed as Conservator when an adult has been deemed incapacitated; family disputes, exploitation issues, or any number of factors may dictate the need for an independent third party.
